Candice is the Director of Outreach & Partnerships at Cape Eleuthera Institute (CEI) and The Island School and has lived and worked in The Bahamas for over 4 years. Candice is responsible for connecting the organization locally and nationally in The Bahamas through education, conservation, and sustainability initiatives. Prior to moving to The Bahamas, Candice lived and worked in South Africa and Fiji on several marine research and conservation projects.

Biography Highlights

Candice earned a BSc in Marine Biology and Coastal Ecology at Plymouth University in the UK and is currently working towards her Master’s degree in Biology with Miami University (Ohio, USA). In 2015 she was selected to join the Kinship Conservation Fellows program which focuses on market-based solutions to conservation challenges.

Candice is interested in research that supports natural resource management, education and making science accessible to the general public. Candice values the importance of incorporating traditional knowledge, culture and community participation in conservation planning, and believes that models that focus on community interests such as food security, income and education can ensure the success of projects.

Candice is an AGRRA Trainer, PADI Divemaster, EFR Instructor and SOLO Wilderness First Responder.
