Mark Grosby

Mark J. Grosby, Esq. of Jamestown, Rhode Island, USA has been the President at Devereux Ocean Foundation, Inc since 2018. The Devereux Ocean Foundation fosters ocean research, education, and stewardship. Current supported projects focus on coral reefs, marine mammals, and ocean education. In recent history, The University of Rhode Island announced that The Devereux Ocean Foundation, Inc. has pledged $250,000 to create the Devereux Ocean Foundation Fund for the Graduate School of Oceanography (GSO). The gift includes support for Rhode Island K-12 science teachers to collaborate with GSO experts to develop new ocean science curriculum materials. Prior to working at the Devereux Ocean Foundation, Mark was self-employed as Real Estate, Condominium Law and Zoning attorney in Vermont from 1979 until 2020. Mark focused on creative problem solving and legal counsel for  small businesses. He advised small business owners and their businesses about taxes, entity structure, governance, employee remuneration, succession planning, and business transactions. He also has experience as an Estate Planning attorney. In his early career, Mark worked as a Practice Administrator at the Central Vermont Anesthesia Association where he managed all non-medical functions of 8 MD anesthesia practice including hospital and insurance contract negotiation, human resource administration, accounting and monitor compliance.  Mark has a BS in Engineering from Cornell University and a law degree from Akron University School of Law. He is married to Suzanne M. Grosby.
